Waterfall- Wetterkreuz- Glapfgraben- Scheffelsteig

This scenic alpine tour starts at Grünbühel in the direction of the Kriegerkapelle chapel, the first special feature of this route. This is where the first part of the impressive and exciting hike begins. First, the path runs over the Hausbachsteig trail, which requires your full attention. Sure-footedness and a head for heights are very important. If you turn around from time to time, you have a wonderful view of the valley, while sporty climbers can put their skills to the test on the via ferrata opposite. The path continues in the direction of Glapfalm. In the fountain in front of the Alm building there is a beverage depot cooled with mountain water (donations welcome). After a short rest, you start again and go on the hiking path on the right hand side of the meadow to the Wetterkreuz peak (1061m), a crag above Reit im Winkl. This view over the valley cannot be beat. A bench invites you to linger and marvel. Take a deep breath, relax and enjoy the peace and quiet before walking back a few steps along the same path (approx. 100m), then on a beautiful mountain path following the signs towards the center of the village. The way back runs via the Viktor von Scheffelsteig trail, (a poet and painter) to Augustenruh, another vantage point. Refreshments can be found in town.
