Day trip to Lake Königssee

When on holiday in Reit im Winkl, the Königssee is one of the most memorable destinations for a day trip.

The boat trip on the lake between the mountains of Watzmann and Jenner to the picturesque chapel of St. Bartholomä, the famous echo and later a stroll through Berchtesgaden are unforgettable.

To get to lake Königssee drive along the scenic German Alpine Road ("Deutsche Alpenstraße") to the town of Schönau am Königssee, approx. 70 km.

You can go on hikes of all degrees of difficulty around lake Königssee and stop off at many inns, in the mighty scenery of Watzmann, Hochkalter, Hohem Göll and Reiteralm.

• Tavel by bus: take Line 9506, the "Mozartexpress" from Reit im Winkl to Bad Reichenhall and continue by bus or train to Berchtesgaden
