With views of the surrounding mountains, you'll discover models of prehistoric lizards and interesting facts about their lives. A unique highlight is the Steinplatte viewing platform, shaped like a fan coral and hovering over the abyss. Here, you can look forward to spectacular views both below and far away. You'll then pass the Plattenkogel reservoir, where a giant pterosaur spreads its wings on its shore.
Picturesque alpine paths then lead you to the 1,848-meter-high Steinplatte summit, the highest point of this hike. After thoroughly enjoying the panorama, the trail leads you under the Plattenkogel cable car and back towards the reservoir. From there, it's just a few steps to the starting point, where you can stop for refreshments at the Berghaus Kammerkör or the Gasthaus Panorama Tenne. You can return to the valley to Waidring by cable car or on foot.
