Cycle through Bavaria and Salzburg in the footsteps of the great composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
Tour description:
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart left numerous traces around Salzburg. A mosaic of historically documented "Mozart points" is connected by the Mozart cycle path. This cross-border cycle path takes you 450 kilometers through the most magnificent lake landscapes in Salzburg and Bavaria. The Mozart Cycle Path takes you through the Chiemsee-Chiemgau cycle travel region on several stages, where you can discover a number of highlights. At the Waginger See, the warmest lake in Upper Bavaria, Mozart had recovered from his dismissal from the service of the prince-archbishop. From there, the stage leads from lake to lake past forests through small villages. Arrived in Chieming, on the eastern shore of Lake Chiemsee, you can enjoy the sunset on the promenade. Both from here and from Seebruck you could visit the famous island of Frauenchiemsee by ship. After a short drive along the lively Chiemsee, you will reach Seeon Abbey, where Mozart composed two offertories. A special insider tip are the monastery tours of the sacristan. From the monastery, which is idyllically situated on a lake, the tour leads to the less sacred and more secular town of Obing, where there are a large number of inns. Mozart himself always stayed in the tavern here on his journey. Everything you need to know about your holiday on the Mozart Cycle Path can be found online at: www.mozartradweg.com 4h
