In the natural history and mammoth museum in Siegsdorf you can find out everything about the formation of the Chiemgau Alps and the foreland. But also other "aha" experiences such as remains of extinct plants and animals, a saltwater aquarium with fish and corals, a bear cave where you come out in the Stone Age and of course the mammoth skeleton. It is the most complete and best preserved mammoth skeleton in Europe.
Another highlight is the Stone Age Garden next to the Mammoth Museum, where children can grind stones, bake bread on a stick, do handcrafts with natural materials and much more. Every Thursday from May to October, the family action days take place in the Stein-Zeit-Garten.
As an encore, the Christkindl pilgrimage museum is waiting next door. If your head is spinning, you can watch one of the last real ball mills doing their meditative work on the museum square.
The whole offer can also be booked by groups, e.g. school classes, clubs, children's birthday parties.
